Wayne Chan Ka-kui, leader of pro-independence group, Hong Kong Independence Union, today (Aug. 11) received an online death threat. Meanwhile, the iron gate to his flat was splashed with red paint. His family reported to the police, who asked Chan where he had been today and told him to go to the police station to give a statement. The contents of the death threat are as follows (trans. from Chinese by Chapman Chen):
You God-damned Chan Ka-kui, listen, because you have recently messed around, our lives have been gravely affected and we have lived in misery. Let me warn you, I know very well your home address and your family's data, including what time they go out everyday and where they usually go. If you continue to create troubles, and compromise our livelihood, you will have to worry about the safety of your family's life. This is the first warning. And next time, it will be more than a warning. As you are so fond of throwing bricks, tell your family to beware of bricks falling from the sky when they go out.
