May God Liberate All Animal Mothers and their Kids this Mother's Day. By Dr. Chapman Chen

On Mother's Day, let's pray: Oh, Omnibenevolent God! Should it fit into Your Grand Plan, please liberate the billions of animal mothers and their beloved children who are badly enslaved, abused, raped, tortured, murdered and inhumanely separated from one another by humans. For instance, hens are forced to lay hundred more eggs than they would naturally do and their male chicks who won't be able to lay eggs are macerated no sooner than hatched; cows are regularly artificially inseminated, i.e. raped, and as soon as male calves are born, they are taken away from their mothers and shot on the head as they can never produce milk; pigs are imprisoned in crates in which they could hardly turn around to nurse their piglets, who are anyway snatched away from them after just 3 weeks, months before weaning would naturally occur; and millions of lambs are murdered for Easter alone annually.

Jesus understands the mother-child bond in the animal kingdom very well:- "I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings" (Matthew 23:37 NIV). Likewise, the Lord "will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge" (Psalm 91:4 NIV). And in preparation for His triumphal entry into Jerusalem, Jesus specifically instructed His disciples to go into a village and bring Him a donkey together with her colt (Matthew 21:1-6), so that the mother and the son would not be separated. In this connection, many dairy farms acknowledge that mother cows cry for days after calves are seized from them. Pigs are also devoted mothers who, if allowed, would spend days building a nest of leaves or straw before giving birth. Then the piglets would stay with their doting mothers for about 15 weeks, which is typically disallowed in a factory farm.

Jesus Himself died for animal liberation. Prior to the Last Supper, Jesus, in emptying the Temple of animals about to be slaughtered for sacrifice, and in calling the Temple-turned-butcher-shop "a den of thieves", debunked the business fraud of animal sacrifice and disrupted the chief priests' and scribes' lucrative revenue stream, who immediately afterwards conspired to destroy Him (Mark 11:15-18), eventually leading to His arrest, trial, crucifixion, and resurrection on Easter (cf. Akers 2000).

Thus, on this Mother's Day, let's remember all the animal mothers being persecuted by humans. Pray that God will soften people's hardened heart so that they will go vegan and free all the animal mothers and their children. Otherwise, God might take drastic action against humanity to put an end to the animal holocaust (3 trillion of animals are murdered by humans on annual basis).

Amen!
