On 20 January 2023 at noon, two days before the Lunar New Year of the Rabbit, a butcher surnamed Choi, aged 61, who was in charge of the Sheung Shui Slaughterhouse in New Territories, Hong Kong, was preparing to slaughter a fat pig with a 40 cm knife after stunning the innocent creature of God to faintness with a captive bolt. Unexpectedly, the badly abused pig suddenly woke up and in panic kicked the butcher. The man fell and a main artery of the his left leg was accidentally cut by his own butchering knife. The human soon fell into a coma. After being rushed to the Northern District Hospital, he eventually died of excessive bleeding. The deceased was an active member of the Communist Hong Kong Federation of Trade Unions.
